Meet the Trainer

I’m Anna Schwartzenberger. Animals have been my passion my whole life. I first started dog sitting and farm sitting when I was 14 to save up for my first car. Upon graduating from highschool, I became a Vet Tech where I learned all about animal behavior and gained a vast knowledge of animal medicine and care. From there, I followed my heart to leave the animal medical field and continue working with dogs and their people to create well behaved, happy canine companions.

In 2015, I acquired my first Belgian Malinois, Ranger. He and I started training for IGP and then French Ring. We trained in personal protection as well as upper level obedience. I worked with and observed many handers and trainers using different methods to achieve the same titles I was striving towards. Each dog, while they may be the same breed, is vastly different and they all learn best in their own ways.

Over the last 9 years, I have been able to figure out how each dog learns best and to adjust my program to best fit each dog. I use a balance of positive and negative reinforcement. First, each dog is taught each behavior via free shaping. Once they understand the command completely, they are then held to higher standards and their mistakes are corrected. This makes for a very obedient and happy dog because they have clarity about what is expected of them.
